Dr. Symon Chiumia is a seasoned healthcare professional with over two decades of experience in clinical medicine. He holds a Master of Science in Epidemiology and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) all from the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) (Formerly University of Malawi, College of Medicine)
He has made significant contributions to public health research, serving as the Principal Investigator for a groundbreaking study on the predictors of isoniazid uptake and completion in under-five child TB contacts in Blantyre health facilities in the Southern Region of Malawi.
With a strong background in medical management, Dr. Chiumia has held key leadership roles, including Clinical Services Manager at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital and Chief Medical Officer at Montfort Mission Hospital. His expertise in trauma care is further reinforced by certifications in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Nonoperative Fracture Management from the AO Alliance.
