Mwaiwathu Private Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced
candidates for the position of Laboratory Technician tenable at the Hospital along
Chileka Road in Blantyre.
Position Context
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician carries out medical
laboratory procedures according to the prevailing operational guidelines and executes
relevant administrative activities to ensure delivery of laboratory services that satisfy
clients’ needs.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
• To collect required samples from clients including patients
• To analyze samples manually or using applicable equipment
• To keep the laboratory equipment tidy and in a good state of repair
• To report results of laboratory examinations to clients
• To implement activities of the quality management system
Educational Qualifications and Experience
• Must have a Diploma in Biomedical Sciences
• At least two years hands on experience in a similar job
• Knowledge of ISO 15189:2022 will be an added advantage
• Must be a registered and paid-up member of the Medical Council of Malawi.
