He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Master of Medicine in Paediatrics, both obtained from the University of Malawi College of Medicine (now Kamuzu University of Health Sciences). His commitment to excellence led him to further specialization, becoming a Fellow of the College of Paediatricians of South Africa, where he also earned a Sub-specialty Certificate in Paediatric Rheumatology. Dr. Phoya is highly regarded in his field and actively contributes to global paediatric rheumatology advancements.
